The home of Costa Coffee
In early 2017, after two years of construction, we opened our doors to a brand-new state-of-the-art roastery in Essex, UK. As well as quadrupling Costa’s roasting capacity and being one of the largest roasteries in Europe, it is one of the world’s most sustainable.
Our roastery is one of the biggest roasteries in Europe and allows us to produce 45,000 tonnes of coffee a year. Quadrupling our coffee roasting capacity compared to our previous home in Lambeth.
Inspiring the world to love great coffee
We’ve always worked hard to bring fresh coffee experiences to our customers. From the brothers’ first boutique in the 1980s, to being pioneers in London serving coffee in porcelain cups, innovation has flowed through every era of Costa Coffee. Alongside this, since 1971, we’ve been perfecting our signature blend, Mocha Italia — tasting over 100 versions before finding the one that lives up to our standard.
